Looking Up in 2023

Hi Friends,

It has been a grand space in time since I have posted a BLOG.   There was an interruption of Covid earlier in the year in 2020 in

our family. Parents, my husband  Marks' had just moved to Florida Retirement Home. My guess is that each of you have a story

to tell.  I will leave mine here.  Suffice it to say, we have buried our loved ones. (Not from the Virus), moved to assist and

are well onto a beautiful Spring 2023. We plan our return home soon, time will tell.

With that said, my paintings have focused on the sky, or 'Looking Up'.  This Collection is called NEW HORIZONS.

Gazing at the cloud formations are my newest intentional subject.  I mean, I really study their beauty.  Each sunset uniquely begins in the moments before when the color explodes in our sky and the sun slips below the horizon. The formation and many color values vary moment by moment. It's a bit of a miracle.  Living in the Southeast, we EXPECT a similar show the next day.

For good health and a spring of colorful blossoms, I want to express gratitude to ALL of my supporters, collectors and clients at this time. My NEW work is posted FIRST on instagram.  It is nearly a daily share of artistic influence.

Our world is still filled with much world information. My posts will be a break from this.

We celebrate Easter and I will also be busy in the garden when not in the studio or gym.  It is a glorious time of year.

If you sign up on the HOME page for ART Alerts, you will received notice personally when a new piece is completed.

Drop me a note in the contact area or message on Instagram and let me know how YOUR family/friends are and your thoughts on

Sunsets.  They certainly are different in different parts of the world.

Sincerely,

Tessa, my Schnauzer and I in 2015

a joyous time as my hair was growing back after an illness. It did not stay this white color, but we were thrilled "looking up".

TRAVELING HAS IMPACT ON ART

2/12/2018 2:48:05 PM | By Vicki P. Maguire Fine Art | Comment on this

NEEDLESS TO SAY......our experiences and observations show up in the artists work.  "ECHO" is a great example due to the fact I usually

paint ocean and water expressions.  The result is generally many shades of blues, grey, soft neutrals, white and some warmer hues or cooler.

While abstract work is not new, the very quick and intuitive style is.  Also, my work is mostly oil, cold wax and palette knife.

Since a very specific desire to paint with Joan Fullerton, a wonderful highly talented intuitve abstract artist, I realize that I was not even close to the unknown outcomes using acrylic and mix media tools and techniques.   For me the RISK of speed painting and design is

worth the effort knowing I will learn something new to add to my TOOLBOX, so to speak.

The colors I selected for "ECHO" remind me now of the trip I just took to Scottsdale about a month ago. There are elements of the scenery

in this painting....QUITE UNPLANNED.   The mountains, rocks and terrain are diverse from our very flat green Charleston.  I feel blessed that the heart paints based on experience or the capture of small observations (or moods).

Just as interior designers seek new ideas from Market or their travels; we artists benefit from new views and the approach to present

them.

How does your environment impact your work?  Please jot a note and share.....

Cheers,

Vicki
